About us
The beginnings of our activity
The company STOLAM was founded in 1980 by Andrzej Zygmunt, a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry at the Technical University of Szczecin (now ZUT, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering). He gained his experience at the Stettiner Yachtwerk, initially working as a laminator and later as a production manager. After several years, he decided to start his own company, which was quite a challenge at that time. Originally, the company produced bodywork parts for cars, boats, kayaks, pedal boats, and more.
Since 1998, the company has specialized in manufacturing bodyworks for buses and trams using the hand lay-up technique, which continues to this day.
Continuation and business expansion
In 2012, his son Michał Zygmunt joined the company, bringing with him 14 years of engineering experience in designing storage tanks and pipelines made of plastic and stainless steel. He expanded the scope of activities to include thermoplastics and 3D design. Since 2020, he has been independently running the family business while still benefiting from the extensive technical support of his father. Combining his father’s more than 40 years of experience in duroplastics with modern engineering allows them to take on many new challenges
Now
Currently, STOLAM’s main specialty remains the production of bodywork parts for public transportation vehicles. However, the company is open to exploring new industries where fiberglass-reinforced plastics technology is also needed. In addition, the offer of welding thermoplastics (PE, PP) and 3D engineering are being continuously developed.
